Season of Healing for Women (and the World)

Ideas for the “Season” from Mama Love

With news of sexual abuse and sexual harassment dominating the news juxtaposed with the season of love —Valentine’s Day—coming in, I have been thinking a lot about sex and love these days. And, specifically, what flower essences I might want to suggest people use (and use for myself)! There are a couple of different ways to work with flower essences that I think are important to consider. So that’s what I want to share with you today.

Ordinarily, people focus on the emotional pain they are grappling with (grief, anxiety, anger, etc.) and how to heal it so they look for flower essence and aromatherapy products that address it. So many women have been getting old buttons pushed this past year. If you have been a victim of sexual abuse or harassment, or need to confront ways in which you might be acting out and recreating negative sexual experiences yourself, you might be wanting to work with the feelings coming up around that. Please keep in mind that flower essences are not a substitute for professional counseling or even a great heart-to-heart with a friend! But as a complementary therapy, it's an awesome tool! There are MANY choices that you might consider and I’d be happy to do an email consultation with you to create a custom formula . The other approach to working with flower essences (and perhaps this is most effective) is to think about what state of being you want to bring in. More love, more joy, more peace of mind? Happy Spring Everybody,

As we spring forward into a new life at this time of year, I hope thoughts are starting to return to what you want to create in YOUR life (not just the world at large). Of course, the national scene in the United States happens to be a bit of an obsession for many, if not most, people these days. But if you’re starting to have the stirrings of recommitment to your personal path (albeit with a broadened perspective of how the greater world may intersect with that), then I believe you’re in sync with the energies of this time.

Paul and I haven’t been using this newsletter to actively promote our spiritual counseling and healing practice for awhile (personal and family reasons mostly), but it seems time to rectify that.

If you haven’t already, you might check out our website at http://www.healingcommunication.com. We do a serious practice working together as a team or individually with clients one-on-one (your choice, same price). The heart of what we do combines conventional counseling techniques with spiritual guidance and energy healing (when desired) and is always about helping you make positive choices for your life, change patterns that hold you back, and providing assistance for your spiritual and personal growth and development.

Paul and I are quite similar in what we do and what we’re interested in but bring complementary perspectives into the work. Paul has degrees in Religious Studies and Behavioral Science. His interest in helping people started with a serious meditation practice and spiritual awakening experience when he was just a teenager. He works with all kinds of issues (relationships, career, family relations, etc.) but has a particular inclination towards helping people with their spiritual development in the context of physical life.

I come to this work with a masters degree in Transpersonal Psychology and more than 30 years of experience as a peer counselor in multiple settings including the Alzheimer’s Association and Del Mar Caregiver Resource Center. I became interested in this work in the course of healing myself from a challenging chronic illness and have a particular interest in the mind/body/spirit connection as that was the key to my recovery. My Mama Love flower essence aromatherapy business came out of this as well. I also work with all kinds of issues but my inclination tends to helping people with ordinary life issues in the context of greater spiritual development.

Honestly, the differences between our approach are mostly subtle ones as we have learned a great deal from each other over the years. When we work together our clients gain from two sets of life experience and both a male and female perspective. It can be fun as we both have a sense of humor, and it can provide a lot of input to make use of. Of course, that can be overwhelming for some people so feel free to work with just one of us. If you feel more comfortable working specifically with a man or a woman, that’s the appropriate choice. Some of our clients have actually switched off between us, sometimes working with Paul, sometimes working with me. We’re fine with all of that.

Most of our sessions are happening via Skype these days. If you live in Chico, in-person sessions can be arranged at a mutually agreeable location.

Happy May!

This has been a very busy time period for Sheryl in regards to art. She’s participating in four shows in Chico at once right now, three of them juried, one an internationally juried show. And she’s even sold two pieces. Pretty fun and exciting! That means our minds haven’t been on promoting our businesses as much. . . but you didn’t want so much email in your inbox, did you?

Interestingly, the two pieces that sold were visual expressions of spiritual ideas so the newsletter this month is about one of those: the Heyoka or sacred clown, (see photo above).

Call of the Heyoka

The Heyoka play a special role for the Lakota tribe, one of the native tribes of the Great Plains in the United States. In Sheryl’s painting a couple (I guess you could say that personally represents the two of us), rides a horse backwards over mountains in the sky. The Heyoka ride horses backwards or behave in other backwards ways to satirize social conventions and make people think about what they are doing. They joke around but also have a serious role to play. They ask difficult questions or say things other people are afraid to say. Their work is healing—they make people laugh during hard times—but they also make people think. “Is this the way I mean to be going? (Is my horse going in the right direction?) Should I really be believing my fear or shame based beliefs? Are the rules I’ve been living by healthy ones? Is it time to re-examine the way I’ve been doing or thinking about things?”

Big questions!

The Heyoka is also sometimes thought to have something in common with The Fool or Jester in the Tarot. The Fool is so busy looking skyward to Heaven that he is dangerously close to walking off the edge of a cliff. Luckily, he is protected by a faithful little dog who nips at his heels and warns him to get out of harm’s way. In Sheryl’s painting the dog is represented in some respects by a safety net. Some might argue that such a net could get in the way of flying—and to some extent it does. But, as many of our clients know, we don’t advocate ungrounded spiritual practice. We’re too intellectual and practical for that! The Fool, however, is a positive card most of the time. It doesn’t mean you are being foolish. It means the time is right to go on an adventure, to try something different, do something new. But make sure you pay attention to where you are going while you attempt to get there!

Happy New Year!

Have you done a review of your last year as we enter 2014? I recently did and found it illuminating.

I found that there were several areas of my life where I had been operating on somewhat inaccurate assumptions. That’s easy to do, especially if you have beliefs and desires that you don’t want to let go of. But, just as in the world of business where you keep books and can make a physical real-world accounting of what went well and what wasn’t so good (just do the math), it’s helpful to take the time to do this in any aspect of our lives we’re wanting to focus on.

For Paul and me a lot of our end of the year reviewing has, however, centered on business. As 2013 was winding down I was vaguely aware that it seemed like my Mama Love Flower Essence Aromatherapy business had slightly improved. But when I did the math I was in for a big surprise—total sales had tripled! I wasn’t aware of this level of increase because it didn’t make an obvious impact on my day-to day life but this past month I realized I had enough surplus in my business account to think about what, if anything, I might want to do with it. At least a third of those sales came from a new set of products I added halfway though last year (scented and unscented flower essence sprays) so my New Year’s resolution in regards to my business was obvious and exciting. I can do some R&D into another set of products I’d like to add soon. (Sorry, I‘m not ready to announce that yet.) This is a big improvement over past New Year’s resolutions, by the way! Typically, I’d be looking at what went badly and how can I do better? (You know, get more exercise, eat more vegetables.) This is perhaps the very first time in my life where I thought: what went well that I’d like to do more?

So, there’s a New Year’s thought for all of us. What spiritual, emotional, or physical positives from this past year would you like to build on? Take to the next level? Enjoy even more?

May that lead to the most abundant year of blessings for us all.

FLOWER ESSENCE FOR THE TURNING OF THE LIGHT

On my Flower and Spirit blog I’ve started a feature I call the Flower of the Day. Although I haven’t been doing it every day my idea is to ask for guidance through using a combination of dowsing and flower essences and share the insights I glean in the blog. I’ve been doing this kind of work for 10 or 11 years but for my own eyes only.  It has led to breakthrough insights for me and has served as a spiritual education I never would have dreamed possible. This weekend I asked for the flower most suitable for dealing with the turning of the light, the season we've just entered of shortening days and longer darker nights. For some people this leads to longer-lasting darker thoughts. Scorpio energy. Which can also be transformative energy when used wisely.

Dark thoughts can lead to light. Only, however, through intention. Someone wrote me last night, "I feel lost." I have felt the same way at times. So do we all. And if we feel lost way too long we can give up in despair. Things go wrong.  Earthquakes occur, businesses fail, people make mistakes. Recessions can create huge setbacks; wars even worse. Let's not talk about climate change, global catastrophes and the seemingly endless Walking Dead zombie apocalypse -- then I'll really get overwhelmed! But sometimes you need to descend into the dark in order to get to a new place, to recover, let go of the reins, regroup. Like Persephone who was abducted by Hades and dragged into the underworld, sometimes we have no choice but to descend into the depths. But there's a promise in that metaphor. Like seeds that are buried in the ground, held in the dark while waiting for the warmth and rain of Spring, a time of waiting, of developing, of rest and rebirth is a necessary part of the cycle of life. In the mythology Persephone was always returned to the surface so that life as we know it would not permanently fade away. And so it is with us. Terrible events can "abduct" us and take us away. But the light returns and we can return again and again.

The Flower of the Day then is Saint John's Wort. As an herb it is used for many types of depression. In the Flower Essence world we look at it the same way but from a more spiritually-rooted perspective. It’s seen as a tool for coming back into the light.

When you feel depressed you feel deeply pressed -- hopeless, bound up, almost immobilized. "My life is a mess!" we say. "I'll never get out of this place. Nothing appeals to me. When I do think of something I assume it can't be done, at least here, now, in 'enough time', by someone 'like me', someone in my particular predicament, in my age group, [put some limiting belief here]." Some of it's true. In today's world we can't all be professional basketball players, for instance.  With today's cultural conventions, if you're a certain age or never grew taller than 4'10"  that ship hasn't sailed, it never even came into your harbor. So, yeah, sometimes we have to respect certain limitations if we can't or don't want to challenge the status quo BUT we can practice basketball at the gym with our friends or play some other sport, find other things we like to do.

We need to be grounded and work with the physical reality of our lives to find the places we can flourish. We also need light in the sense of being awakened to the possibilities that exist, to be able to see the paths available to us. "Light our way when the darkness surrounds us, give us love, let it shine all around us." Karen Carpenter's voice singing comes into my consciousness although her song "Bless the Beasts and the Children" (see the video) was written in the third person ("Light their way", etc.) That's what Saint John's Wort flower essence is  for. It helps brings forward a feeling of being protected by the light within. We need light in our hearts in order to thrive/survive.

What is Spiritual Counseling?

Happy Fall, Everybody!

This month we thought we'd get back to basics. We're spiritual counselors but we've come to realize that a lot of people don't know what that is. . . or at least what it is that we do. So let's answer that question for those who you who might be wondering.

WHAT IS “SPIRITUAL COUNSELING”?

For us, spiritual counseling has evolved into a combination teaching/counseling session. We work one on one or the two of us with one client or a couple in private where people can share their deepest struggles, hope and dreams. Many of our sessions look a lot like conventional counseling sessions: we listen like good counselors ought to, ask questions and help people come to their own understandings. But we also stop to ask for guidance, sometimes once, sometimes several times, and the guidance we receive helps us focus like a laser beam on what will move our clients forward most. Sometimes that is more counseling; other times a session becomes more like a class with us sharing tools and techniques and various bits of knowledge we believe will be of benefit. Most of all, we bring our authentic selves—Paul’s wild sense of humor and our combination of eclectic spiritual focus, educational background and lessons from our own life experiences into the mix.

That includes the bad stuff, the hard lessons learned, as well as the triumphs and positive tales to tell. People who find themselves a great fit for our practice love this. They come to us because of it and some come again and again so they can take our support with them on their own interesting and challenging rides. Our clients include other healers and counselors (both alternative and conventional), people who believe strongly in personal growth employing a more open spiritual point of view than the norm, people dealing with fairly conventional problems related to relationships, careers and decisions they're trying to make, and people who have challenges of a more spiritual nature and need a set of kindred spirits to buoy them along.

IN THE MOMENT

I’m not a big fan of hot weather. For almost a week I saw the reports of weather coming: 115 degrees by the weekend. I hate that. But as I kept seeing the estimates change, day by day, I got to noticing that I’d have been better off not knowing anything, especially since what I “knew” were just estimates and predictions. By Friday it was indeed 109. But what I didn’t know was that the humidity would be a startlingly low 9%. As little as I had to be out in it, it was no big deal, even though our car has no functioning air conditioner. Yet our apartment surely does. First world problems, right? Boo-hoo, it’s kind of hot. The worst part, of course: worrying that it will be hot. Sheryl reminded me that Californians don’t know weather like East Coast people do, that the high humidity in the East means your natural evaporative body cooling system (sweating) no longer works so count your lucky stars. “I’m sure it will be much worse tomorrow,” I told myself, shortly before telling myself to stop thinking that. And I had a hunch that the weather might be nearly identical anyway. It was. The dreaded 115 degrees never came. We had a leisurely Saturday morning and enjoyed indoor activities in our air conditioned cocoon of an apartment.

Heading out to breakfast our Jeep wouldn’t start. Dead battery. Whoops. I knew it was weak. I knew it for a long time. I had not considered that it would fail on the hottest day of the year (so far). But that’s when batteries do fail, when it’s hot and when it’s cold. Some people learn from the errors of procrastination early in life, some are pushing fifty and still haven’t figured it out. Lucky we could borrow my dad’s car (he lives next door) and proceed. Pretty interesting day because we then proceeded to have several different experiences at the same place of business within just a few hours: really good service, almost too good, then really bad service, then almost as bad, then good again but sort of reluctant. I thanked the first one and the last one profusely and, by the way, the “too good” guy was on crutches and working anyway. The last guy seemed so shocked that I had thanked him, and a look passed over his face indicating that I had just changed his day with a simple “thank you.” If anybody asked me if I’d recommend that auto parts store I’d have to say, “It’s great, and it’s terrible, and it’s mediocre, and it’s pretty good.” It’s like probability in statistics, the truth only becomes evident as the repetitions of an experiment approach infinity. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

By the afternoon we’d had a nice breakfast out and the Jeep was functional again. It actually seemed “happy” to have a new battery. A couple hours later and we had a power outage in the apartment. A transformer had failed and half the complex would be doing without. More first world problems-- considering that a whole crew would be dispatched to replace the transformer, working through the night to do so. Off to the movies we went, but decided against going as we stood in the lobby. The air conditioning blasted through the open doors, refrigerating the parking lot. Young women kept striking up friendly conversations with Sheryl and I, smiling, happy, and I reflected on the fact that so many people in this town are. The heat doesn’t seem to affect them. Or possibly, they love it. Our cat was happy, too. She was actually very sick with a tumor, but as far as she was concerned a dark, quiet and warm house was pretty fun and interesting, plus she got to enjoy the undivided attention from her loved ones without intrusions from the usual electronic devices like TV and the internet.

In between all that we went to Denny’s and bumped into other folks from our apartment complex waiting it out. At the next table was a beautiful child with her parents. She kept sneaking stares at us from beneath her mop of blonde hair. Mom wasn’t happy, not at all. Dad was running interference with the kid-- who was actually doing nothing at all wrong except being a slightly bored 2 year old at a restaurant at 10 at night. I’m talking about an angel of a two year old. I wanted to tell the parents how beautiful their child was, both in spirit and the obvious sense, the kind of kid you want to photograph for the sheer joyous life in her. I even caught the kid mugging it up to cheer up her mommy. The parents didn’t take the news well that the power might be out until some time in the morning. You’d think it had been the news of a death in the family. Before they left I commiserated with the mom about the raising of a 2 year old (I’ve done it twice) and she seemed to like that a little, as long as the topic stayed on how difficult it was.

I had a hard time complaining about anything after that. That family blessed me.

Back at home, Sheryl and I watched an unusual movie on my laptop in the dark. We put the cat between us on the bed and she loved it— she purred and cuddled and did not mind the heat. The movie was a series of short stories themed on being somewhere you are not, being something you are not, or pausing for a moment between here and there, contemplating exactly where you are and who you are now, right now, right in this moment in time.

We are still in a rather collaborative frame of mind (see our last newsletter) so we both decided to try our hand at writing this newsletter. Enjoy!

COME TOGETHER, PEOPLE, RIGHT NOW
Part 1

Time to write the newsletter and I can't think of anything but politics. C'mon, Sheryl, think up something uplifting related to spiritual growth! But there it sits: the 300 ton elephant and donkey in the middle of the room, trumpeting and braying loudly, too!

Sigh. Alrighty then, I guess that's what needs to be addressed! How are you all doing with that peace of mind thing these days?! I know that for me, it's a daily battle -- sometimes I'm transcendent enough to call it a "practice" -- to notice the fear and sometimes absolute outrage that the rhetoric and name-calling and misrepresentation of the truth brings out in me. To notice and acknowledge it, to bring myself back to center, and choose how and if I intend to respond. Should I participate by signing petitions, donating money, posting to Facebook, etc., etc.? And how much and how long? I bring myself back to center as often as I can. I'm reminded that the fate of the entire world is not up to me, that I can do my part and then go back to the painting I've been working on or flower essence aromatherapy product making or -- hell, let's be honest -- watching "The Big Bang Theory" on TV at least part of the time. I can let go, let others take on the job, rejoice that I'm not alone, rejoice even more that WE, in general, are not alone. We can let go, let God after choosing what part we intend to play... and then do so!

It takes courage, honestly. I was reminded of that in my fortune cookie today: "Fearless courage is the foundation of victory." Trust in the process takes courage, perhaps as much as fighting for something or constantly giving it your all. In the world we as a society are inclined to make, allowing there to be room for the other person's point of view is an incredibly courageous act. To allow someone to show their true colors, to see what they do when caught in the act, to recognize that even the ones we believe are in our court are not infallible, to allow them to be human and, perhaps, pick them up when they fall.... all these things test our faith in process. To vote despite our insecurities about what we notice takes courage.

Paul's fortune cookie said " Everything you are for empowers you."  When I'm inclined to go to battle against something I wind up depleted, angry, scared and resentful. But if I do something -- anything -- in the service of what I'm for I feel good.  So since I always intend for this newsletter to impart something uplifting or empowering that's what I think I'll share.

What is the end result you want to create? The one that most promotes the highest benefit for all concerned? Let that serve as a guiding light for how to be and what (if anything) you want to do.

Come Together, People, Right Now, Part 2

It’s been very difficult to get my mind out from under politics this week to even think of a topic unrelated to politics. The fact of the matter is, life goes on. Each of us has to decide how involved in politics and the political process that we’re going to be, and I am not belittling that. In fact I’m more politically active now than I think I have ever been.

While I’m not sure how possible it is to keep politics from separating us from each other — from friends, family, or even from people whom we’ve never met in person — I think it’s very important that we try. Nobody can be completely objective, and so it’s all the more important when we’re being bombarded by media images and messages to remember:

“Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes.” -- Billy Connolly

Ok, so that’s the Scottish version. Pragmatic, eh? Or maybe a little too descriptive of our political process after all, which I'm trying pretty desperately to turn my gaze away from. Anyway, after the potential divineness of the next few months, we’ll all have relationships to maintain and so I think it’s important to remember that underneath it all on a basic level we probably all want the same things, human things, right? And that’s the place where we all connect. Go deeper and maybe we’re talking about soul level things. That’s a place where I think we have even more in common, not just with each other but with all creatures, plants, the air, the earth, the cosmos. Where we all came from and where we shall return. So. . . while we are all currently being somewhat molded into a binary version of political existence maybe a good exercise would be to recognize our singularity first, and deep within that singularity lies the connection to the infiniteness of existence, and that’s who we really are, where no reductive labels will stand.

Our collaborative efforts continue in our art this week as well. The photo accompanying this newsletter online shows Sheryl hiding behind a current work in progress. It combines a photograph by Paul turned into a painting by Sheryl. It's actually a melange of digital photography, acrylic paint, collage and potato printing which will eventually receive an acrylic top coat resembling encaustic. An exercise in allowing a melding of two artistic choices -- painting and photography -- to create something that brings out the best of both worlds.

Another collaborative effort on our part feels appropriate for the times we live in now. Remember our memoir "Waking Up in the Great Recession Mormon Desert"? Seems like that's a potentially ironic title these days! Hi Everyone!

Happy Groundhog Day, Imbolc, Candlemas -- the perfect time for this month's newsletter about going beyond "backwards manifestation." Seeds are germinating under the ground but have you been sowing the right ones?

BREAKING THE PATTERN OF BACKWARDS MANIFESTATION

Frequently in our spiritual counseling and healing practice healing themes emerge. One client, and then two, and sometimes three in a row will complain of the same thing. One of the themes for this month has been backwards manifestation as a result of relatively recent and unhealed trauma.

Backwards manifestation is a label Paul and I have coined for manifesting the opposite of what you so fervently want. “Please, please, please!” goes the inner cry (consciously or not). “I’m SO scared. I’m so afraid of what’s going to happen! Please, God, help me!” Then you intend what you think you need (a new job, a new home, a new relationship) and all hell breaks loose as part of the arrangement. You get the job but the boss is a hellish bastard. Someone takes advantage of you. Maybe two or three jobs of the worst kind appear (something you’d hate but are willing to settle for anyway) and then those jobs fall through. People lose your resume, you send another and they lose it again! More and more hellish things occur, and on it goes. One backwards or insufficient manifestation after another.

You think: this manifestation stuff is a bunch of crap! Who came up with this belief system anyway? I’m intending as hard as I can and nothing goes right for me! This is bulls**t!

And then, little positive manifestations fall in through the cracks. You think “I’d really like a new cabinet to put my art supplies in but I can’t really afford to spend money on that” and like magic someone leaves a perfectly great one out by the dumpster by your apartment building the very next day that just needs some inexpensive hardware to fix. And it’s not the only thing that happens that week. Sometimes Paul and I manifest tiny miracles like that every day with no effort or even specific intent. It’s like a sign from the universe that this stuff really does work if you’d only have your head and heart in the right place!

So then you think: why is it so easy to manifest little things with no effort and we backwards manifest on the stuff that feels big to us? Ummmm... maybe because it feels too BIG?!!! As Paul likes to say: you can’t believe in the power of God, the power of the Universe (however you wish to think of it), and not believe in it at the same time and have manifestation work. If it feels too BIG to do and you believe in that then you’re not believing it could be EASY. So you manifest something less than easy -- if you manifest anything at all -- because that is what you unconsciously accept.

At the beginning of last month I realized I was sick of backwards manifesting on the “big” important stuff while getting ample evidence of the power of easy manifestation on everything else. I wanted to crack the code on this issue and turn it around. And, on cue, the universe supplied three examples of people with unresolved trauma needing help with the same thing. Unresolved trauma. People who had suffered serious accidents, death, financial disasters and loss and had been backwards manifesting on certain things they cared about ever since. And the very biggest pattern I saw was not even being able to believe or even dream about what they wanted instead.

Oh! Of course.

The three asked for and received very different forms of help. Spiritual counseling alone for one, flower essences alone for two others. Paul and I decided to use energy healing, spiritual counseling and flower essences for our own well-being (why not use everything we’ve got?) Within a couple of days dreams of what we had forgotten about flew back in, conditions one or both of us were accepting seemed completely unacceptable, and new choices and ideas spontaneously came to mind. It was FAST! Energizing. And then without us doing ANYTHING extra we received new client calls, made unexpected Mama Love sales, and sold some book downloads and artwork, too.

Coincidence? Or the outward manifestation of unresolved trauma being released?Based on past and current experience, I’d say it was the latter.

I once wanted to be a coach who helped people achieve their deepest hopes and dreams. I do have coaching training as well as a degree in Transpersonal Psychology under my belt. But what Paul and I have seen as spiritual counselors and healers using a broad spectrum of techniques is so remarkable -- especially when people are committed to their development over the long haul -- it feels like a gift whenever we get to do it.

We're taking new clients jointly now mostly on weekends, early evenings and one weekday a week. People wishing to work with Paul alone can arrange sessions on additional weekday afternoons as well.

Hello Everybody,

What an interesting month October is turning out to be! The month of Libra (the scales of justice) has brought needed attention to the plight of the 99% of Americans who are not millionaires and especially to their children (and many others) who have been struggling in this Great Recession economy. The scales of justice carries a sword but to their credit the vast majority of the Occupy Wall Street protesters have managed to remain peaceful and nonviolent in demonstrations all across the country and around the world. Paul and I have been very engaged in supporting the efforts to get the word out about what's been happening online on our Facebook pages and individual blogs. Both having been real journalists ourselves it has felt essential to counter news blackouts, misleading reporting and sometimes outright lies with reports, videos and photographs from people in the thick of things. It's also been very inspiring because the coming together as a response to corporate and political corruption we're seeing today was predicted in our book (although we had NO idea of the form it would take).

We know many of you read this newsletter (if you do) most often because of the spiritual nature of what we most often try to present. June Healing Communication News

Hi Everyone,

We've moved back to California—Chico, CA, the City of Trees! And what a magnificent, lush, green, City of Trees it is. Beautiful big trees of every sort lining almost every street—it's like living in a giant arboretum. Paul has family here and has lived here on and off but it's very new to Sheryl. How'd we choose Chico? Well, it appears to have been waiting all along but we didn't think of it. Instead we chose to accept a job as live-in innkeepers in Grass Valley, thinking we'd each work part time at that while building our practice and other businesses up, drove partly across the country to get there, only to have the job whisked away before we could even begin! Luckily, Chico is just an hour and a half away and Paul's dad was there to see us through. Talk about needing to live in the moment and do what the universe puts in front of you! Flower Essence fans and other curious people might like the article Sheryl posted about Green-Cross Gentian and having the strength to carry on that she posted on her blog here. It's especially applicable for those who have been uprooted and need to connect to a new home.
