Mama Love is Combatting Climate Change!

As you may know, I have a new day job working for the Regenerative Agriculture Initiative at Chico State where I write about natural methods that combat climate change and address food scarcity. Regenerative methods avoid practices that lead to soil erosion and loss of soil fertility and replace them with those that support the soil biology, reduce the need for fertilizers and pesticides, and offer significantly improved crop yields. It also surprisingly improves the soil’s ability to store carbon that plants draw down from the atmosphere through photosynthesis. In other words, it actually helps reverse climate change!

What does this have to do with Mama Love? Everything! Did you know that all the flower essences I use are either ethically wildcrafted or are Biodynamically farmed? That was the first Regenerative farming practice! And now Etsy, where my online shop resides, has just announced that they are the FIRST global e-commerce company to completely offset carbon emissions from shipping. I’m so happy to hear it!

Season of Healing for Women (and the World)

Ideas for the “Season” from Mama Love

With news of sexual abuse and sexual harassment dominating the news juxtaposed with the season of love —Valentine’s Day—coming in, I have been thinking a lot about sex and love these days. And, specifically, what flower essences I might want to suggest people use (and use for myself)! There are a couple of different ways to work with flower essences that I think are important to consider. So that’s what I want to share with you today.

Ordinarily, people focus on the emotional pain they are grappling with (grief, anxiety, anger, etc.) and how to heal it so they look for flower essence and aromatherapy products that address it. So many women have been getting old buttons pushed this past year. If you have been a victim of sexual abuse or harassment, or need to confront ways in which you might be acting out and recreating negative sexual experiences yourself, you might be wanting to work with the feelings coming up around that. Please keep in mind that flower essences are not a substitute for professional counseling or even a great heart-to-heart with a friend! But as a complementary therapy, it's an awesome tool! There are MANY choices that you might consider and I’d be happy to do an email consultation with you to create a custom formula . The other approach to working with flower essences (and perhaps this is most effective) is to think about what state of being you want to bring in. More love, more joy, more peace of mind? Hot enough for ya? Cold and wet enough for ya? The weather is all I’m reading about in my Facebook feed. And for very good reason this week. Lots of horrific news coming out of Houston and Bangladesh and other parts of southeast Asia. Sad sad stories but also ones of hope and inspiration with neighbors helping neighbors and people of all races and religions reaching across perceived boundaries to lend a helping hand. It’s what we do in a natural disaster. It’s what we could be doing for each other a lot of the time.
