June 2025 Mama Love News

Hello Everybody,

I've noticed interesting shifts this past month or so for myself and for other people—what looks like a desire to strike a balance between coping with daily outside-driven upsets and a return to what we want for our own personal growth and development. That shows up as more purchases in my shop for things other than grief, anger and fear or, that, and additional choices that typically reflect different concerns.

I actually decided to take that trend as guidance for myself and felt a great improvement in how it made me feel to finally allow space for listening and acting on inner desires I've been glossing over and pushing aside. (Highly recommend!) So that's what this month's selection of blog posts represents: a selection of each. Hope you find it helpful!

Joyful Boy with Flowers

Hello Everybody,

I wish you all the best in the new year!

As we go into the coming year, some of us are hearing fearful messages about what 2025 may bring. I see very few people in my social media feed looking forward to it. VERY few social media posts are about New Year’s resolutions. No posts about dreaming big, just that it’s okay to dream small. And yet, I always think that setting positive intentions at the beginning of the year is a healthy thing to do. For me, this is taking the form, this time, of intending the gist of what I want to create. For example, we can’t control outcome, but I feel like we can intend that we thrive. We can intend the gist of dreams coming true in the sense of having the abundance of love, tranquility, rest, joy, etc. that we really want to experience—the gist of what we believe “dreams coming true” would allow us to feel. And I think we can be guided to the best ways forward for achieving that goal.

It's okay to dream, and to dream big (or small). What experience do you want to create in the new year?

News from Mama Love
Hello Everybody
I was feeling pretty philosophical this month after significant healing work in my own life and a number of very interesting interactions with clients. I'm sharing a few blog posts that go a little more in depth than what I often do. Including one on a subject particularly near and dear to my heart: "Needing Healing Does Not Mean There is Something Wrong with You." (Not a common point of view.)

I changed my Instagram account if you've been following me there! It's now @mama_love_organics

Needing Healing Does Not Mean There is Something Wrong with You
There is nothing wrong with you, no matter how it feels or what you’ve been told. Sure, you may have challenges or characteristics that make you different from other people. Perhaps you’ve gone through trauma and have distress that has shaped your way of being in the world in a detrimental way. Perhaps there are legitimate reasons for you to want to change how you feel, think, and behave. But . . . Read more.
Using Flower Essences to Calm the Fight or Flight Impulse when Neither Makes Sense
Especially in recent weeks (and on and off over the last few years) I've been doing a lot of personal growth around old and recent traumas that have put me into long stretches of either feeling anxious or furious depending on how much self-esteem I have at any given time. But a breakthrough happened this month! Read more.
Be Here Now with Flower Essence Support
Be Here Now. That’s my current healing project. I am normally so focussed on the future that my horoscope for the next day comes true the day before. (I’m not kidding.) Read More.

December 2020 Mama Love News

A Holiday Message
As we’ve just celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States and are heading into the Christmas season, I am reminded of the importance of gratitude. Remembering the good things you might ordinarily take for granted is especially important when our lives (and in some cases, our wallets) are impacted by the threat of coronavirus and all that entails.

Some of us have had horrific experiences this past year with losing jobs, businesses, loved ones, or at least sleep due to worrying about ourselves or people we love. Others have been impacted by racial and economic injustices or the impact of climate change-induced fires, storms, and related catastrophes. And no matter what side you were on, the election year itself was certainly not free of trauma that is likely to have an ongoing impact that touches all of our daily lives for years to come.

One of the practices I was reminded of recently that might help is to get into a meditative state and ask for guidance about what benefits or gifts could come from whatever you have gone through or what we have gone through as a collective. I’ve done this more than once myself and feel quite confident that the veils that have been shredded about the inequities in our country and political process (for example) needed to happen to wake people up and impel us to make change (and to know what change needs to be made). In my personal life I have woken up to choices I made due to early life trauma that have impacted my finances ever since, and I’ve already made changes to rectify that situation. And I’ve made note of the emotional challenges that arise as I move forward because, certainly, knowledge is helpful, but insight without healing won’t take us quite as far.

As you move through your own end of year processes, be aware that we’re not over with this awakening. Most of us are still dealing with the shock of how much illusion has clouded our vision and it will take a while to sort out fact from fiction. So let pandemic restrictions serve as a time to regroup and catch our collective breath. May we be led forward from this period with grace and a new respect for the importance of love and caring for ourselves, our families, our loved ones and communities. Even for the world itself.

September 2020 Mama Love News

Lots of Thoughts and a Little News
Another month that inspired a lot of writing! But even though I can't seem to help but be somewhat topical these days, I've also done a lot of exploration into flower essences, how they work, what can happen when the feelings you have about today and tomorrow intersect with trauma from earlier in your life, and then some.

But first some news that may impact my international customers. Because of the Covid-19 crisis all international flights from the U.S. have been severely cut back. I've been seeing shipping delays of more than a month; other Etsy sellers report 8 week delays. And some shipments have not arrived at all. So, until this situation changes, I'm not offering international shipping except within North America in my Etsy shop. If a customer wants to take the risk and pay for insurance, I'm willing to make an exception . . . but I don't know that I recommend it. I'm so sorry.
The Difference Between Larch and Gentian Flower Essence
Gentian is for people who have suffered a setback and feel pessimistic and discouraged about their future. A lot of people are experiencing that right now! But people who need Larch also tend to feel discouraged about their future and lack the confidence to try new things as a result. So what's the difference?
Using Flower Essences for Lifelong Issues

Typically when someone chooses a Bach Flower Remedy they are not thinking about what "type" of person they are—they just want relief for what ails them today! But when you dig a lot deeper into this system of healing you will find people attempting to work with lifelong issues that they see as a character flaw, something innate that they wish to work with, eliminate, or at least move beyond.  Read more . . .
Flower Essences for Navigating the Mars Square Pluto Alignments in 2020
It is highly unusual for me to write about astrological influences but this one is pretty intense. And it's happening THREE times this year! Read more . . .
When Flower Essences Reveal What's Underneath
When the time doesn't seem right to deal with a particular distress right away, your psyche will resort to defense mechanisms so you don't have to. Maybe it would disrupt your life too much or force you to feel feelings you really can't face. So your psyche hands you a feeling that might be easier to handle. But what happens when you decide to address THAT feeling?

July Mama Love News -- Flower Essences for Our Times

Flower Essences for Our Times
I believe we will look back someday and, yet again, say these were the best of times AND the worst of times. A clashing of the most heartening human coming together and those forces attempting to rip us apart. Moments of inspiration and moments of despair sometimes juxtaposed in the same time frame. Astrologers say "hang on to your seats, the rest of this year is going to continue to be a wild ride!" The potentials are enormously positive but as is always true in times of upheaval and chaos, the only way through requires riding out the storm. "I am the storm" is a line from "Breaking Bad" that just popped into my mind. We are the storm? If so, then maybe a newsletter about flower essences for healing the storm within is appropriate! Let's begin . . .
Black-Eyed Susan for Healing Aspects of Yourself Hidden in the Shadows
Sometimes I like to see what's selling well in my shop because it could, theoretically, help me gain insights into how to be a better businesswoman. Of course, it never really does that. Instead it opens up my imagination to trends going on in the piece of society my customers represent. Today I noticed that Black-Eyed Susan has sold several times in a row.

Fatigue Related to Black Lives Matter, PTSD and Politics
"I'm so tired." "I'm so tired. " How many times have you heard a black person being interviewed about the Black Lives Matter protests say that? How many times have you felt the same way? Tiredness is a theme that has run through the posts in my Facebook newsfeed for the last three weeks when anger and outrage isn't being expressed. And, to be honest, I've put off writing this blog post for a week because I was too tired to write it. Read more . . .

Recovery from Pandemic Job Loss, Business and Work Changes
For about a month now I’ve been noticing increased sales of single flower essences and flower essence formulas for reducing procrastination, and increasing life purpose, focus and creative inspiration. This is a significant shift from the days when people couldn’t sleep and wanted something to deal with shock and fear! Now it seems like a lot of people are in the phase of figuring out how to either deal with life as it is now when it comes to work and life balance and/or how to create or find something new. Read more . . .

Being Grounded During Times of Pandemic and Social Upheaval
Stuck at home during this pandemic with so many horrific news stories in my Facebook newsfeed and on TV, I frequently find myself in one of two modes: 1) anxious, angry online activism or 2) escape. It’s also been excruciatingly hot here in Chico—110ºF all week—until today when the weather broke and I could finally open up all the doors and windows and eat my breakfast outside on the balcony. The PRESENT MOMENT in my actual vicinity is actually pretty nice. . . Read more . . .

May 2020 Newsletter for Mama Love

Hello Everybody!
This month's news
What's new?
I have lots of new customers this month. If that describes you, welcome!

Etsy made some changes recently and I've been sitting tight watching how it would affect me and Mama Love. The GOOD news is more customers and more business! The not so good news is that it comes with a significant increase in fees to help pay for Etsy's advertising. So for the first time in awhile I've had to raise my prices a little: $0.25 for each item under $10, $0.50 for items over $10. Hopefully, that will work for me and not be a hardship for you. I just wanted you to know what it was for. I do appreciate your business and don't raise my prices lightly!
Blog Posts
I've been a writing fool this month! Lots of pandemic-inspired thinking and how flower essences can help based on trends in my shop:
The Most Popular Flower Essence in My Shop During This Pandemic
I always pay attention when there is a trend in my shop that I did not expect. It says something about the general state of mind of my customers which is often fascinating and often instructive to me. And what's been happening during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic is no exception.
Vulnerability to Negativity and How Flower Essences Can Help
We’re quite inundated with news about the virus and—given the nature of what drives the news cycle—a lot of what we have seen is disturbing, to say the least. And that goes double for what’s on social media. Read more . . .
Emotional Healing Using Flower Essences to Support Your Heart and Lungs
